Welcome

Welcome to this online tribute to Peter Rann, a man both extrovertedly public (as a ring performer) and enigmatically private (since disappearing from TV screens in 1974).

Peter Rann's 23 year wrestling career encompassed not only the 'golden era' of British wrestling but a turbulent period in Britain's social and political history during which he was linked to some of the era's most colorful and controversial personalities.

Peter was my cousin,he died in his early sixties. He had heart problems. He was a lovely man and would help anyone. He was my mothers sisters (auntie Daisy) son and uncle Arthur was his dad. They moved from Doncaster to London when I was quite young and I saw little of him until Daisy and Arthur moved back to Doncaster in later life.Peter and wife and two children moved to the Blackpool area where he died.

Peter was a good friend of my stepdad’s, he use to have me fascinated with all his stories. I went to his house in Chiswick a few times and met his children who were just a little younger than me. He wanted me to take up wrestling and would show me a few moves. Was a really nice guy , one of life’s characters.
